Naga Vura, MD, FACP

Assistant Professor/Clinical

Dr. Naga Vura is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in September 2022. Dr. Vura earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School at Odessa National Medical University in Ukraine in 2011 before going on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Akron, OH in 2019 (serving as Chief Resident from 2018 to 2019) and his Geriatric Medicine fellowship at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI in 2020. Dr. Vura then became a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General and the Medical Director at the Concordia at Sumner Post-Acute Care Facility. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Medical Director Association, American Geriatrics Society, and the American College of
Physicians.

Dr. Vura has served the population by volunteering with a number of organizations to include the Yashoda Super Specialty Hospitals, Osmania General Hospital, and the Cleveland Clinic Fundraiser for Cancer Research. He is also the recipient of several awards including "Rookie of the Year" (2021), "Izeman Award" (2020), "Ophthalmology Excellence Award" (2009), "Otolaryngology Excellence Award" (2008), and the "Human Anatomy Excellence Award" (2006). In 2024, he was awarded the Division of Hospital Medicine's "Researcher of the Year" award in recognition of his demonstrated committment to the research mission.
